The Telangana government has entered into a landmark Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Akshat Greentech Private Limited, a subsidiary of Mytrah Energy, to establish a cutting-edge solar cells and modules manufacturing facility in Hyderabad. This development was announced during the World Economic Forum (WEF) 2025 in Davos, Switzerland.
Strategic Collaboration for Renewable Energy
The agreement was formalized in the presence of Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, IT and Industries Minister D Sridhar Babu, and members of the Telangana Rising Delegation. Representing Akshat Greentech was its Director, Girish Gelli. The proposed facility will have an impressive capacity of 6.9 GW for both solar cells and solar modules, positioning Telangana as a key player in India’s renewable energy landscape.
Major Investment and Job Creation
With a proposed investment of ₹7,000 crore, the project is expected to create over 2,500 direct jobs, significantly boosting local employment and economic growth in the region. This initiative aligns with Telangana’s ambition to lead in clean and green energy solutions.
Telangana’s Clean Energy Vision
The state government’s recently launched Clean and Green Energy Policy emphasizes creating a favorable ecosystem for renewable energy investments. The policy provides robust infrastructure, single-window clearances, and attractive incentive packages to investors, making Telangana a preferred destination for sustainable energy projects.
India’s Presence at WEF 2025
The World Economic Forum 2025, held in Davos-Klosters from January 20 to 24, has been a hub for fostering global investments. Telangana’s presence at the event underscores its commitment to attracting investments across sectors. The India Pavilion at the WEF features eight Indian states, each showcasing investment opportunities to global executives.
India’s largest-ever delegation at WEF 2025 includes five union ministers, three state chief ministers, and nearly 100 CEOs and leaders from government, civil society, and the arts. This unified effort aims to highlight India’s growth potential on the global stage.
Renewable Energy Leadership
The collaboration between Telangana and Akshat Greentech is a significant step toward achieving India’s renewable energy goals. By facilitating large-scale solar manufacturing, Telangana is not only advancing its clean energy agenda but also contributing to the nation’s broader sustainability and economic development objectives.
