India is set to strengthen its railway manufacturing capabilities with the Kazipet Rail Manufacturing Unit (RMU) in Telangana nearing completion.
The upcoming facility will play a key role in producing next-generation intercity trainsets, designed to offer faster, safer, and more comfortable travel between major cities. In its initial phase, the plant is expected to manufacture 200 intercity trains over the next five years, supporting Indian Railways’ modernization and self-reliance goals.
