Tamil Nadu’s Growing Electronics Manufacturing Ecosystem
Tamil Nadu has emerged as a preferred destination for electronics manufacturing thanks to its business-friendly policies, skilled workforce and robust infrastructure.
“We are building a $100 billion electronics manufacturing ecosystem — and every factory we launch is a step closer to that dream. Welcome to Tamil Nadu, Dixon, HP, and all the other brands whose devices will now be manufactured here,” said TRB Rajaa, Tamil Nadu’s Minister for Industries.
“Dixon’s leadership acknowledged what we’ve always believed: Tamil Nadu’s progressive policies, robust infrastructure, highly skilled workforce, and above all, ease of doing business at a fast pace make it the most attractive destination for manufacturing in India,” he added.
Why This Partnership Matters
- Boosting Make in India – The facility strengthens India’s position in laptop manufacturing, reducing reliance on imports.
- Job Creation – Over 5,000 direct and indirect jobs will be generated, boosting the local economy.
- Strengthening HP’s India Presence – HP, a global leader in laptops, will now manufacture locally through Dixon, improving cost efficiency and supply chain resilience.
- Tamil Nadu’s Manufacturing Leadership – The state is already a hub for Apple iPhone production (Foxconn, Pegatron), and now laptops are being added to its portfolio.
