Waaree Energies is taking a strategic step to strengthen its global solar manufacturing footprint while streamlining domestic operations.
The company’s Board has approved a US$37 million investment in its US subsidiary, alongside a consolidation of two manufacturing facilities in Gujarat.
US Manufacturing Expansion
🔹 US$37 million capex approved for Waaree Solar Americas Inc.
🔹 Arizona facility capacity to increase from 1 GW to 1.6 GW
🔹 Overall US manufacturing capacity to rise from 4.2 GW to 4.8 GW
🔹 Combined US footprint: 1.6 GW in Arizona + 3.2 GW in Brookshire, Texas
🔹 Investment to be funded through a mix of internal accruals and debt
India Manufacturing Consolidation
Waaree Energies will also streamline its domestic manufacturing network:
🔹 Tumb, Gujarat – 1.0 GW
🔹 Nandigram, Gujarat – 1.11 GW
🔹 Both facilities are planned for closure, with machinery relocated to the company’s Chikhli facility
🔹 The restructuring is targeted for completion by December 31, 2026
🔹 The affected units represented approximately 14% of their prior standalone turnover
