Unilever, operating in India as Hindustan Unilever, has announced plans to establish two manufacturing units in Telangana. These include a palm oil facility and a refining unit in Kamareddy district, marking a significant investment in the region.
This announcement came during the World Economic Forum (WEF) 2025 in Davos, Switzerland. The decision was finalized following discussions between Unilever CEO Hein Schumacher and the ‘Telangana Rising’ delegation, led by Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy and IT and Industries Minister D. Sridhar Babu.
Telangana’s Strategic Advantages
Chief Minister Revanth Reddy highlighted Telangana’s strategic location, its robust supply chain infrastructure, ease of doing business, and consumption-driven market as key factors attracting investment.
Unilever also plans to establish a bottle cap manufacturing unit, aiming to reduce its reliance on imports while promoting local production capabilities.
