On Thursday, April 30, 2026, representatives from Titan Defence Systems Limited (TDSL) met with Andhra Pradesh Infrastructure and Investment Minister B.C. Janardhan Reddy at the Secretariat in Amaravati to propose a multi-pronged investment in the state’s burgeoning aerospace and defense sector.
The delegation, led by TDSL Group Chairman & CEO K. Giri Kumar, outlined a strategic vision to leverage Andhra Pradesh’s favorable industrial climate to establish high-tech maintenance and manufacturing hubs.
The Kurnool-Nandyal Defense Blueprint
TDSL’s proposal focuses on two distinct geographic locations, aligning with the state’s specialized manufacturing corridor strategy.
- Kurnool Airport (MRO & Simulation):
- MRO Centre: TDSL plans to establish a Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) facility for military and civil aircraft. This fits into the state’s vision for the Kurnool-Orvakal region as a hub for aviation and drone technologies.
- Simulation Centres: The company intends to set up advanced training and simulation facilities for combat vehicles, fighter jets, and helicopters.
- Nandyal District (Manufacturing Unit):
- Defense Production: A dedicated manufacturing unit is proposed for Nandyal to produce defense equipment, potentially including armored vehicles, drones, and aerospace components.
- Training & Certification: The facility is also envisioned to include centers for testing, certification, and modernization of existing defense assets.
