Taural India reached a new milestone in its mission to localize high-tech engineering by commissioning its second aluminium sand casting facility in Supa, Maharashtra.
Inaugurated by Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, this ₹500 crore plant marks a rapid transition from the investment commitment made at the World Economic Forum (Davos) in January 2025 to a fully operational site within just one year.
Facility Blueprint & Capacity
Located in the Supa MIDC (Ahilyanagar district), the new facility is designed as a “Super-Hub” to augment the company’s existing operations in Pune.
- Scale: Spread over 30 acres, the site is roughly four times larger than Taural’s first plant.
- Production Target: Boosts casting capacity to 1,500 tonnes, focusing on customized components weighing between 20 kg and 1,000 kg.
- Global Benchmarks: Integrates advanced digital process controls and automated sand casting lines, adhering to European standards through its joint venture with Thoni Alutec (Germany/Poland).
Mission-Critical Applications
The Supa plant is a cornerstone for India’s Import Substitution strategy, manufacturing complex aluminium components that were previously sourced from Europe or China.

- Jobs: Creating over 2,200 total jobs (1,200 direct and 1,000 indirect).
- Revenue Target: Aiming for a turnover of ₹1,000 crore within the next five years.
- Exports: Approximately 18% of the production from this facility is slated for export to the US, Europe, and Japan.
