The Government of Tamil Nadu has inaugurated two new Mini Textile Parks at Kodangipatti and Uppidamangalam in Karur district, reinforcing the state’s commitment to strengthening textile manufacturing and supporting MSMEs.
The parks were inaugurated by M. Vijay Balaji, Minister for Handlooms, Textiles and Khadi, as part of the state’s cluster-based industrial development strategy.

🔹 8 Mini Textile Parks sanctioned for Karur, with 2 already operational
🔹 19 Mini Textile Parks approved across Tamil Nadu
🔹 State provides financial assistance of up to 50% of eligible project cost, with a maximum subsidy of ₹2.50 crore per project
🔹 Kodangipatti Mini Textile Park developed with an investment of ₹5.57 crore
The new parks will provide shared industrial infrastructure, helping textile MSMEs reduce production and logistics costs, improve operational efficiency, expand manufacturing capacity, and execute larger domestic and export orders.
Karur, renowned for its home textiles, handloom products, and powerloom furnishing textiles, is expected to benefit significantly from this initiative, further strengthening its position as a key textile manufacturing and export hub.
This initiative reflects Tamil Nadu’s continued focus on developing modern industrial infrastructure, enhancing MSME competitiveness, boosting exports, and reinforcing its leadership in India’s textile and apparel sector.
