Energy management and automation leader Schneider Electric has unveiled plans to further strengthen its industrial footprint in India by opening three new manufacturing plants. Schneider Electric CEO Olivier Blum made the announcement during the inaugural session of ELECRAMA 2025, a premier event organized by the Indian Electrical & Electronics Manufacturers’ Association (IEEMA) in Greater Noida. Currently operating 31 manufacturing units in India, the company will establish the three new facilities in Kolkata, Hyderabad, and Ahmednagar.
“India’s focus on energy transition, smart infrastructure, and digital transformation presents significant growth opportunities,” Blum stated. “By leveraging AI, IoT, and digital grids, we aim to accelerate India’s energy sector development while contributing to sustainability and decarbonization.”
Strategic Investments to Boost Manufacturing and Job Creation
Schneider Electric has already committed ₹3,200 crore towards expanding its industrial operations in India. As part of this expansion, the company plans to add nearly 1.2 million sq. ft. of manufacturing space by 2026. India is currently Schneider’s third-largest market globally and serves as one of its four strategic global hubs.
Blum emphasized Schneider’s long-term vision for India, stating, “India is a key market for us, and we are dedicated to creating jobs, fostering innovation, and driving sustainable development. Our new plants will not only enhance local manufacturing capabilities but also support the ‘Make in India’ initiative.”
