Odisha Pharmaceuticals and Medical Devices Policy-2025 : The Odisha government has taken a Major and significant step toward strengthening its position in India’s healthcare manufacturing sector. the state cabinet on Friday approved the Odisha Pharmaceuticals and Medical Devices Policy-2025 a move announced by Parliamentary Affairs Minister Mukesh Mahaling in the state assembly on Saturday.
The new policy is designed to position Odisha as a strategic entry point for India’s growing pharmaceutical and life sciences industry. It outlines a clear roadmap for building specialised industrial clusters and developing modern infrastructure facilities. This vision connects with the state’s long-term goal of contributing to a prosperous Odisha by 2036 and supporting the national target of creating a developed India by 2047.
A key highlight of the policy is the proposal to set up the Odisha Pharma Park and Odisha Medtech Park. These upcoming facilities are expected to provide high-quality industrial infrastructure, attract investors and support both domestic and global healthcare manufacturers.
To ensure smooth execution the government will set up a strong institutional system. The Odisha Pharmaceutical Development Cell will act as the lead agency to coordinate development, implementation and investor facilitation.
With this policy, Odisha aims to boost industrial growth, create skilled jobs and strengthen India’s overall healthcare manufacturing ecosystem.
