Global biopharmaceutical company Octapharma has announced a $1.5 billion investment to establish its first U.S.-based manufacturing and production facility at Palmetto Research Park in Rock Hill, South Carolina.

The state-of-the-art facility is expected to create 1,500 full-time jobs and will manufacture plasma-derived therapies, including critical medicines for patients with rare and chronic conditions. The site will also produce bleeding management and trauma care products, strengthening U.S. national security and emergency preparedness.
