Nexteer Automotive Launches Next-Gen Intelligent Manufacturing Project in China.

The Suzhou project covers 10 hectares, with a planned 70,000 square meters of developed space and is designed to meet the highest global green factory standards, including LEED Platinum certification. “Intelligent + Green” principles drive every aspect, from advanced Building Information Modeling (BIM) during construction to seamless integration of digital twin technology and fully automated, AI-enabled production upon completion.

Nexteer’s new Suzhou campus will unify and optimize several current operations, strengthening rapid response to market changes and customer needs—especially for high-demand systems like Electric Power Steering and Steer-by-Wire. This move reflects Nexteer’s long-term strategy of operational optimization and digital transformation in the Asia-Pacific, which is already a leading growth region for mobility innovation.

Once complete, the APAC headquarters will consolidate production into a company-owned, highly flexible, and sustainable facility. That supports both regional and global OEMs, including major automakers in China, India, Europe, and the US. Nexteer’s history of strategic investments and R&D—like the Changshu and Liuzhou facilities in China—illustrates its commitment to advancing automotive production standards worldwide.

Nexteer’s Suzhou project will strengthen partnerships, accelerate product innovation cycles, and lay the foundation for future-ready, agile automotive supply chains—making the APAC region a central pillar of its global manufacturing strategy.
