JK Cement Signs MoU with DPIIT to Boost India’s Manufacturing Startup Ecosystem.

Cement manufacturing giant JK Cement has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) and the Ministry of Commerce & Industry to foster innovation, empower entrepreneurs, and strengthen India’s manufacturing ecosystem.

Partnership to Support Startups and Drive Sustainable Development

The collaboration aims to nurture at least 10 startups and entrepreneurs over the next year by providing them with essential resources and mentorship opportunities. JK Cement will offer access to state-of-the-art infrastructure, advanced manufacturing and R&D facilities, pilot projects, and university resources to help budding startups thrive.

In a statement, DPIIT highlighted that the partnership is expected to yield viable solutions that promote sustainable development and innovation in India’s manufacturing sector.

Commitment to Nation-Building

Madhav Singhania, Joint Managing Director and CEO of JK Cement, expressed the company’s dedication to contributing to India’s growth. “Partnering with DPIIT reflects our unwavering commitment to nation-building. Together, we aim to cultivate a dynamic and competitive manufacturing ecosystem, driving India’s ambition of becoming a self-reliant and innovation-led economy,” he said.

DPIIT’s Ongoing Efforts to Boost the Startup Ecosystem

This development comes as part of DPIIT’s broader initiative to collaborate with various corporations to bolster India’s manufacturing ecosystem. On January 8, DPIIT inked a pact with US retail giant Walmart to support India’s manufacturing startups and MSMEs, particularly those in Tier II and Tier III cities. The partnership aims to equip startups to compete on both national and international levels.

Last week, the Startup Policy Forum (SPF) also partnered with DPIIT to enhance manufacturing capabilities in India and facilitate relationships with international companies. The partnership seeks to connect global investors with India’s vibrant startup ecosystem.

Collaborations with Leading Companies

In recent months, DPIIT has partnered with several prominent companies to nurture the country’s emerging tech ecosystem. These collaborations include agreements with HCLSoftware, Flipkart, bOAt, Tally, and others. The central government’s efforts aim to foster a robust, homegrown startup ecosystem that contributes to India’s economic growth and global competitiveness.

Through these initiatives, the government and private entities like JK Cement are working together to make India a leader in innovation-driven manufacturing and sustainable development
