International Battery Company (IBC), a TUS-based firm, is setting up a lithium-ion gigafactory in Karnataka with an investment of ₹390 crore. The facility will be located in the KIADB ITIR industrial area, Devanahalli, near the Foxconn facility, and is expected to commence operations within nine months, creating direct employment for 300 people.

- First in India: The plant will be India’s first battery cell manufacturing facility, enabling local production and reducing reliance on imports from China.
