Hisense India and Epack Durable Limited (EDL) marked a defining moment in their partnership by inaugurating Hisense’s first-ever manufacturing facility in India.
Located at Sri City, Andhra Pradesh, the state-of-the-art plant is a $30 million (approx. ₹272 crore) investment that transitions Hisense from an import-dependent brand to a locally rooted manufacturer, fully aligned with the “Make in India” initiative.
Facility Blueprint & Phased Expansion
The 10-acre facility, managed by Epack Manufacturing Technologies Private Ltd (EMTPL), is designed to serve as a multi-category production hub.

Product Portfolio: The “Intelli” Edge
Phase 1 focuses exclusively on Hisense’s global AC lineup, specifically engineered for the high-ambient temperatures of the Indian subcontinent.
- Flagship Series: F-Series and Eco Series.
- Smart Cooling: Intelli Perla and the brand-new Intelli Pro Series.
- Key Features: These models typically feature WiFi-enabled smart controls, PM 2.5 air filtration, and 100% copper condensers with “Blue Fin” anti-corrosion coating.
- Production Status: Pilot production is complete, and the plant will now manufacture 100% of Hisense’s RAC requirements for the Indian market.
Employment & Regional Impact
The plant is a major employment generator for the Tirupati-Sri City industrial corridor:
- Current Workforce: ~500 employees.
- Future Target: Scaling to nearly 2,000 jobs over the next 12–24 months as Phases 2 and 3 come online.
- Strategic Hub: The Sri City SEZ location allows Hisense to leverage efficient logistics for both domestic distribution and future exports to strategic international regions.
