Greater Noida, 09 March 2025: In a significant step toward bolstering India’s manufacturing sector Haier one of the country’s leading home appliance manufacturers held the ground-breaking ceremony for its new air conditioner manufacturing plant in Greater Noida. The event attended by prominent government officials and Haier India’s leadership, underscores the company’s commitment to the ‘Make in India’ initiative and its vision for sustainable growth and innovation.

The ceremony was graced by Manoj Kumar Singh, IAS, Chief Secretary of Uttar Pradesh as the Chief Guest who inaugurated the event with a traditional ribbon-cutting. Also present were Prerna Singh, CEO of Greater Noida Authority, Laxmi VS, ACEO of Noida, and Ravi Kumar N.G., IAS, Chief Executive Officer, who witnessed this landmark occasion.
The new plant is a testament to Haier’s remarkable growth in India. From starting with just three product categories, the company has expanded its portfolio to nine, catering to the diverse needs of Indian consumers. The facility is expected to create 3,500 direct jobs, significantly contributing to the local economy.

Mr. Satish also acknowledged the crucial role of the Uttar Pradesh government in supporting Haier’s growth. He expressed gratitude to Haier’s 36,000 selling partners across the country for their unwavering support which has been instrumental in the company’s success.

Manoj Kumar Singh, IAS, Chief Secretary of Uttar Pradesh congratulated Haier for its investment in the state, emphasizing its alignment with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of a ‘Developed India’. He noted Uttar Pradesh’s remarkable economic progress, with the state’s GDP doubling from ₹12.5 lakh crore in 2017 to ₹27 lakh crore today. Under the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Uttar Pradesh has emerged as a hub for industrial and agricultural production.
Mr. Singh also highlighted Uttar Pradesh’s strength in agriculture, being a leading producer of wheat and potatoes. He expressed confidence that the state’s role as an economic powerhouse would continue to grow, driven by rising demand for industrial goods.
