Cabinet Approves Major Infrastructure Project for Urban Expansion
In a landmark decision, the Uttarakhand Cabinet has approved the transfer of 1,354 acres of land in Udham Singh Nagar to SIDCUL (State Infrastructure and Industrial Development Corporation of Uttarakhand Limited) for the development of a Greenfield Township. The decision pertains to Prag Farm, a vast land area located in Tehsil Kichha, spread across multiple villages including Gadariabagh, Noorpur, Panthapura, Rajpura, Bandiya, and Laxmipur. The land will be developed into a modern, well-planned township, fostering residential, commercial, and industrial growth.
Land Allocation for Development
As per government records, the State Government acquired 1,972 acres of ceiling land in 2014. Out of this, 1,354.14 acres (548.23 hectares) have now been earmarked for the Greenfield Township project. The distribution of land across villages is as follows:
- Gadariabagh – 264.47 acres
- Noorpur – 236.38 acres
- Panthapura – 137.06 acres
- Rajpura – 272.66 acres
- Bandiya – 178.02 acres
- Laxmipur – 265.31 acres
The land, categorized as 5-1 (newly recorded fallow land), will be handed over to SIDCUL for planned development under a structured urbanization model.
