MODASA, Gujarat – Gopal Snacks Limited a leading Indian FMCG player, has successfully commissioned its new Gathiya and Namkeen manufacturing facility in Modasa, Gujarat. The advanced plant which has begun trial production is a strategic move to restore production capacity and streamline supply chain operations that were impacted by a fire at its Rajkot plant earlier.
The new facility boasts an installed capacity of 63,085 metric tonnes and is equipped with high-capacity fryers and modern dispatch infrastructure, designed to enhance efficiency and ensure consistent product quality.
Overcoming Supply Chain Challenges
The fire at the Rajkot plant had forced the company to distribute its manufacturing across multiple locations leading to increased service times and logistical complexities. The operationalization of the Modasa plant is a direct response to these challenges.
By centralizing a significant portion of production, Gopal Snacks expects to achieve faster order fulfillment, higher dealer order frequency, and improved overall market responsiveness. The plant is strategically located to serve key markets across Gujarat, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and parts of Maharashtra, effectively reducing delivery times.
A Phased and Scalable Approach
The Modasa facility has been developed not just to replace lost capacity but to create a platform for future growth. The plant is designed for phased capacity expansions in the coming months to align with rising consumer demand for its popular traditional snack lines.
Bipin Hadvani, Chairman of Gopal Snacks Limited, stated that the plant “will play a crucial role in meeting the growing demand across key regional markets while improving efficiency and service delivery,” reinforcing the company’s commitment to quality and its position as a trusted brand.
A Vertically Integrated FMCG Powerhouse
This expansion strengthens Gopal Snacks’ vertically integrated model. The company operates six manufacturing plants, supported by in-house cold storage and a dedicated fleet of nearly 300 vehicles, ensuring end-to-end control over quality and a agile distribution network that serves over 850 distributors across India and key export markets.
