Gopal Snacks, a leading name in the FMCG industry, has announced the commencement of trial operations at its new manufacturing plant in Nagadka, Gondal, Rajkot, Gujarat. This state-of-the-art facility is set to enhance the company’s production capabilities with advanced technology and robust infrastructure.
The new plant serves as a crucial replacement for the previously operational Rajkot I facility, which was temporarily closed due to a fire incident. By resuming production at this location, Gopal Snacks is restoring a significant portion of its manufacturing capacity that had been impacted.
Key Features of the New Facility
The Gondal plant is designed with a substantial installed capacity of 87,569 Metric Tons Per Annum (MTPA). The company has plans to gradually scale this up, aiming for 100% operational capacity. This ensures that the facility meets optimal production levels while maintaining a consistent supply of top-selling products to cater to high market demand.
With its cutting-edge technology and robust operational framework, the plant will focus on manufacturing a wide range of popular SKUs (Stock Keeping Units), ensuring steady product availability across diverse categories.
Strategic Implications
The commissioning of this facility marks a pivotal moment for Gopal Snacks as it looks to reduce its reliance on third-party manufacturers. This move highlights the company’s strategy to strengthen its internal production capacity, fortifying its supply chain and enhancing its overall operational efficiency.
Despite the transition to the new plant, the company has assured that its Modasa and Nagpur facilities will continue to operate at full capacity. This ensures uninterrupted production and product availability across all its markets during this phase of transition.
Statement from Bipin Hadvani, Chairman
Bipin Hadvani, Chairman of Gopal Snacks, expressed his confidence in the new facility’s potential, stating, “The seamless transition to this new manufacturing plant underscores our resilience and determination in overcoming challenges. This facility is a critical milestone in reaffirming our commitment to excellence, bolstering our position as an industry leader, and reinforcing the trust that our customers, partners, and investors place in us.”
Hadvani further extended his gratitude to employees, investors, and customers for their continued support, adding, “Together, we emerge stronger and more determined to achieve new milestones.”
