Kadapa, Andhra Pradesh – In a significant boost to electronics manufacturing in South India Elista a leading consumer electronics and IT firm part of the Dubai-based TeknoDome Group has officially inaugurated its new ₹250 crore state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Kadapa, Andhra Pradesh. The plant marks a strategic investment aimed at making India a key export hub for the brand.
The sprawling 1.32 lakh square foot facility has commenced operations with an ambitious vision: to achieve ₹1,000 crore in domestic revenue and ₹5,000 crore globally by 2028. This move underscores the growing confidence of international investors in India’s manufacturing prowess and its “Make in India” initiative.
Phase-I: Ramping Up Production for Global Markets
The new plant has hit the ground running. In a symbolic milestone, it has already dispatched its first export consignment—650 Smart TVs (43″ to 85″) worth ₹2.55 crore—to Dubai. This shipment leverages the India-UAE Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA), ensuring competitive tariff advantages.
The initial phase of the facility is focused on high-volume production with an annual capacity of two million units, split evenly between:
- One million Smart TVs
- One million LED monitors
These products are destined for the Indian market and for export to over 18 international countries.
Strategic Location and Advanced Operations
The choice of Kadapa is a masterstroke in logistics. Its proximity to the major ports of Chennai and Visakhapatnam provides a significant strategic advantage, slashing shipping times to key markets like the Middle East. The shipment to Dubai, for instance, takes just five days.
The plant itself is equipped with modern manufacturing technologies to ensure efficiency and quality:
- Automated Assembly Lines for consistent production.
- Robotics Integration for precision and scale.
- Rigorous Quality Assurance Systems.
- Green Initiatives including rainwater harvesting and solar power integration highlighting a commitment to sustainable manufacturing.
Local Innovation and Future Expansion
Understanding the diverse Indian consumer, Elista is not just manufacturing hardware. The company will introduce a localized Smart TV interface designed to recommend regional apps and content based on a user’s location, enhancing the consumer experience.
The future looks even brighter with Phase-II already on the horizon. This expansion will see the facility diversify its product portfolio to include:
- Washing Machines
- Dishwashers
- Smart Accessories
This will transform the Kadapa plant into a comprehensive consumer durables manufacturing hub.
Boosting Employment and the Local Economy
Currently, the facility employs over 200 workers, a number that is projected to grow significantly as production scales up and Phase-II commences. This provides a substantial boost to the local economy and skill development in the Kadapa region creating direct and indirect employment opportunities.
The inauguration of this plant is a clear signal that India’s electronics manufacturing landscape is rapidly evolving, moving beyond traditional hubs to create a distributed and robust network capable of serving both domestic demand and the global export market.
