Elista Inaugurates State-of-the-Art Electronics Plant in Kadapa, Aims to Make in India for the World.

Elista inaugurates a new ₹250 crore electronics plant in Kadapa, AP. The facility will make 1 million Smart TVs & monitors annually, boosting ‘Make in India’ and exports.

In a significant boost to Andhra Pradesh’s industrial sector and India’s electronics manufacturing landscape Elista a leading consumer electronics brand has inaugurated its new state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Kadapa. The plant was officially opened on September 2nd by the Hon’ble Minister for Industries, Shri Nara Lokesh.

This modern facility, developed with a phased investment of ₹250 crore is a major milestone for the brand and the region. Spread across 1.32 lakh square feet, the first phase is now operational with an impressive annual production capacity of up to 1 million Smart TVs and 1 million LED monitors.

A Hub for Jobs and Advanced Manufacturing

The plant is set to be a significant employment generator for the Kadapa region with plans to create jobs for approximately 500 people. Currently over 200 skilled professionals are already employed with hiring expected to ramp up as production scales.

The facility is equipped with automated assembly lines, robotics, and advanced quality checks to ensure world-class product standards. Reflecting a commitment to sustainability the plant incorporates eco-friendly features like rainwater harvesting, solar energy integration and ESD-safe zones.

Strategic Location for Global Exports

Strategically located near the ports of Chennai and Visakhapatnam the Kadapa plant provides Elista with a strong logistical advantage for both domestic distribution and international trade. This benefit was immediately demonstrated with the facility’s first export consignment—650 premium Smart TVs valued at ₹2.55 crore—already shipped to Dubai.

Leveraging the India-Dubai Free Trade Agreement, shipping times have been reduced to just five days making Indian-made electronics highly competitive in international markets.

Leadership’s Vision for Growth

Speaking at the inauguration, Shri Nara Lokesh stated, “Elista’s new facility will make Kadapa a hub for world-class electronics manufacturing. It reflects the spirit of ‘Make in India’ and supports our vision for industrial growth in Andhra Pradesh.”

Mr. Saket Gaurav, Chairman & Managing Director of Elista, highlighted the strategic importance of the plant: “This is more than just a manufacturing launch, it is a defining chapter in Elista’s journey… The Kadapa facility reflects our Make in India ambition, while strengthening our capacity, creating jobs, and helping us serve both Indian and global consumers better.”

Future Expansion and Market Focus

The current operational phase is just the beginning. In Phase 2, Elista plans to expand production to include washing machines, dishwashers, and smart accessories. The facility will also act as a launchpad for innovative, locally relevant products, such as Smart TVs with interfaces that recommend regional apps and content based on the user’s location.

With an expansive offline network of over 20,000 distributors already in place Elista is now actively seeking new distributors in Andhra Pradesh to further strengthen its market presence, truly embodying its tagline of ‘Making in India For The World.’
