Delta Electronics India is moving aggressively to capitalize on India’s semiconductor and electronics surge, positioning itself as a “top-floor to shop-floor” technology enabler. On January 13, 2026, the company announced plans to significantly ramp up its manufacturing footprint to support the expanding ecosystem driven by the Indian Semiconductor Mission (ISM) 1.0 and 2.0.
This expansion is part of Delta’s broader $500 million investment commitment in India, aimed at making the country a global benchmark for smart manufacturing and a key export hub for the Asia-Pacific region.
Strategic Manufacturing Expansion
Delta is focusing its growth on high-tech, automated facilities that can serve the demanding precision of the semiconductor and automotive industries.
- Krishnagiri Mega-Campus (Tamil Nadu): * The site recently broke ground on an expansion that includes two new factory buildings, adding to the four already operational on the 95-acre campus.
- Automation Leap: A new smart manufacturing line utilizing Delta’s proprietary “Inline Management Solution” has reportedly boosted productivity for power supply units by 95%.
- Workforce Growth: The company plans to increase its headcount from 3,800 to 5,000 employees over the next three years to support these new lines.
- Localization Goal: Delta has already achieved 70% localization in design and manufacturing for its power electronics business in India.
Targeting the Semiconductor Value Chain
Delta is positioning its Industrial Automation division to serve both the “front-end” (Fabs) and “back-end” (OSAT/ATMP) of chip production.
| Segment | Delta’s Solution |
| Fab Automation | High-precision motion control, cleanroom-compatible robotics, and DIATwin virtual simulation. |
| OSAT & Testing | Advanced pick-and-place systems, vision sensors, and high-speed automated testing equipment. |
| Smart Infrastructure | Specialized Power Conditioning Systems (PCS) and UPS for non-negotiable uptime in chip fabs. |
| Data Visibility | “Top-floor to Shop-floor” integration, allowing management to monitor real-time efficiency via SCADA and IIoT intermediaries. |
Sustainability & Smart Energy
In line with global ESG goals, Delta’s Indian operations are increasingly green:
- Renewable Energy: The Krishnagiri site currently runs on 53% renewable energy, supported by a 6.9 MWp solar rooftop and wind power.
- Energy Storage: On January 6, 2026, Delta signed an agreement to provide 110 MW of ‘Make-in-India’ Power Conditioning Systems for energy storage projects, further stabilizing the power grid for heavy industry.
