BTL EPC Ltd, a prominent engineering firm under the Shrachi group, has announced the acquisition of MBE Coal & Mineral Technology India Pvt Ltd for ₹12 crore through a bankruptcy court process. This strategic move is expected to significantly enhance BTL EPC’s manufacturing capabilities and product portfolio, particularly in bulk material handling and mineral beneficiation.
Formerly operating as Humboldt Wedag India, MBE Coal brings a legacy of innovation and a manufacturing facility located in Kharagpur, West Bengal. With this acquisition, BTL EPC aims to leverage MBE’s expertise in advanced centrifuge, crusher, screen, and feeder technologies.
“The acquisition is a significant step forward in our journey of growth and innovation. MBE-CMT’s legacy and expertise, combined with our own strengths, will enable us to deliver even greater value to our clients and solidify our positions. We are excited about the opportunities this acquisition brings in expanding our product business by strengthening our manufacturing capabilities,” said Ravi Todi, Managing Director of BTL EPC.
Key Benefits of the Acquisition:
- Expanded Manufacturing Base: The Kharagpur plant, spread across 5 acres, provides substantial room for future expansion.
- Enhanced Expertise: MBE-CMT’s technological prowess in bulk material handling and mineral beneficiation aligns with BTL EPC’s growth strategy.
- Financial Advantage: MBE-CMT’s carry-forward loss of ₹24 crore can be offset against BTL EPC’s balance sheet, presenting a financial benefit.
- Integration Plans: BTL EPC plans to merge MBE-CMT into its operations, positioning it as a new unit to bolster its product offerings and market presence.
This acquisition marks a pivotal moment in BTL EPC’s growth trajectory, reinforcing its commitment to delivering innovative engineering solutions and expanding its footprint in the manufacturing sector. With an eye on future opportunities, the company is poised to achieve greater heights in both domestic and international markets.
