Bayer is investing approximately US$2.2 billion to establish a new pharmaceutical manufacturing site in New Albany, Ohio, further strengthening its long-term manufacturing footprint in the United States.

The new campus will initially support Bayer’s pharmaceutical portfolio across oncology, cardiovascular and renal care.

A major focus of the facility will be advanced automation, including automated mixing and sieving, material handling, coating suspension and tablet-pressing processes.

The company plans to develop the site through a step-by-step, flexible and modular approach. The first module will focus on drug-substance manufacturing, followed by a second module dedicated to drug-product manufacturing.

The investment adds to Bayer’s more than $7 billion invested in the US over the past five years, highlighting the company’s continued commitment to expanding its pharmaceutical manufacturing capabilities.
