Amul to Build World’s Largest Curd Manufacturing Plant in West Bengal.

Kolkata, West Bengal – Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation (GCMMF), the producer of Amul dairy products has announced plans to invest Rs 600 crore in an integrated dairy plant in Kolkata, West Bengal. This major investment was revealed during the Bengal Global Business Summit.

World’s Largest Curd Manufacturing Facility

The upcoming facility will be the world’s largest curd manufacturing plant, capable of processing 15 lakh litres of milk and producing 10 lakh kg of curd daily. This expansion comes in response to increasing regional demand for dairy products.

Expanding Market Presence

Jayen Mehta, Managing Director of GCMMF emphasized the strategic importance of this investment, reinforcing Amul’s commitment to expanding its market presence in eastern India. The company, which reported a turnover of Rs 59,445 crore in 2023-24 and supports 36 lakh contributing farmers, anticipates sustained double-digit growth.

Amul’s Global Reach and Future Growth

As a global dairy leader, Amul exports to 50 countries and recently entered the US market. This new facility underscores its dedication to strengthening its domestic supply chain while continuing to expand internationally.

By establishing this large-scale dairy plant in West Bengal, Amul aims to bolster regional dairy production, generate employment, and meet the growing consumer demand for high-quality dairy products.
