ADANI ENTERPRISES & JABIL PROPOSE 50:50 JV TO MANUFACTURE AI AND DATA CENTRE EQUIPMENT IN INDIA

India’s AI infrastructure ecosystem could gain a significant manufacturing boost as Adani Enterprises Limited (AEL) and US-based Jabil Inc. explore a 50:50 joint venture to manufacture and assemble AI and data centre equipment in India.

The companies have signed a non-binding Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), marking a proposed expansion of the Adani Group’s AI infrastructure strategy into advanced equipment manufacturing.

🔹 Key Project Highlights

▪️ Proposed Partnership: 50:50 joint venture between Adani Enterprises and Jabil
▪️ Manufacturing Portfolio: AI racks, servers, storage systems and networking equipment
▪️ Supporting Infrastructure: Power distribution units, transformers and liquid-cooling systems
▪️ Target Capacity: Multi-gigawatt AI rack manufacturing capability
▪️ Additional Services: Installation and commissioning of data centre equipment
▪️ Target Markets: India and international markets

⚡ Strengthening India’s AI Infrastructure Ecosystem

The proposed venture would complement Adani Group’s commitment of US$100 billion towards developing 5 GW of green-energy-powered, hyperscale AI-ready data centres by 2035.

By combining energy infrastructure, data centres and equipment manufacturing, the group aims to participate in multiple layers of the rapidly expanding AI infrastructure value chain.

🌐 A Growing Market Opportunity

India’s data centre capacity is projected to reach 5–8 GW by 2030, driven by growing demand for cloud computing, AI workloads and digital services.

The proposed partnership could help develop domestic manufacturing capabilities for critical data centre components, potentially reducing dependence on imported equipment while creating opportunities for engineering, electronics manufacturing and advanced cooling technologies.

🤝 Jabil’s Manufacturing Expertise

Jabil brings global engineering, supply-chain and advanced manufacturing capabilities to the proposed partnership. The collaboration is expected to combine Jabil’s technical expertise with Adani Group’s strengths in energy and large-scale infrastructure development.

📌 What Comes Next?

The proposal remains subject to definitive agreements and regulatory approvals. The companies have not yet disclosed the final investment amount, production timeline or confirmed customer orders.

If implemented, the venture could represent another important step in positioning India as a manufacturing hub for the next generation of AI and data centre infrastructure.
