Mahindra & Mahindra is advancing plans for a 1,500-acre greenfield integrated manufacturing facility at Additional Butibori in Nagpur, Maharashtra, marking a major boost to the region’s industrial and manufacturing ecosystem.
🔹 ~800 acres – First package expected to be taken into possession
🔹 1,500 acres – Total planned project area in Vidarbha
🔹 5+ lakh vehicles/year – Planned annual automobile production capacity
🔹 1 lakh tractors/year – Planned tractor production capacity
🔹 150 acres – Supplier park planned in Sambhajinagar
The facility is expected to become Mahindra’s largest integrated manufacturing facility in India, bringing automobile and tractor production together across multiple powertrains and next-generation technologies.
🏠Supplier Ecosystem
The proposed 150-acre supplier park in Sambhajinagar will support the Nagpur facility while also supplying components to Mahindra’s existing manufacturing plants at Chakan and Nashik.
đź‘· Focus on Skills & Employment
Beyond land and plant development, Mahindra is also building the workforce required for future manufacturing technologies.
The company plans to leverage experienced employees from its existing manufacturing operations, while establishing a skilling centre in Nagpur with training in areas such as:
• Mechanical operations
• Welding
• Painting
• Advanced manufacturing skills
Over the next 2–3 years, experienced associates will have opportunities to participate in a structured selection process for roles at the new facility.
