Qatar’s EV Manufacturing Ambition Takes a Major Step Forward.

JTA International Investment Holding (JTA) and UK-based WATT Electric Vehicle Company (WATT) have entered into a strategic partnership to establish Qatar’s first electric vehicle manufacturing plant.

The partnership will cover the complete EV value chain—from proprietary platform technology and vehicle engineering to product development, production planning and advanced manufacturing capabilities in Qatar.

🔹 WATT will bring its patented lightweight aluminium architecture, proprietary EV platform and expertise in developing customized low-to-medium-volume electric vehicles.

🔹 JTA will contribute investment capabilities, international partnerships and regional market expertise to build Qatar’s EV manufacturing ecosystem.

The vehicles will be specifically engineered for Gulf conditions, addressing extreme temperatures, battery performance, thermal management and regional customer requirements.

Beyond manufacturing, the initiative aims to:
• Strengthen regional EV supply chains
• Promote R&D and advanced automotive technologies
• Increase localization of manufacturing capabilities
• Create skilled employment opportunities
• Position Qatar as a regional hub for clean mobility and automotive innovation

Dr Amir Ali Salemi Zadeh, Founder & CEO of JTA Investment Holding, said the vision is to establish a globally competitive EV manufacturing platform that positions Qatar as a leader in advanced manufacturing and clean mobility.

With WATT’s UK-developed EV platform and JTA’s regional investment expertise, the partnership could mark an important milestone in the Gulf’s transition toward electric mobility and localized automotive manufacturing.
