Horton Emergency Vehicles Invests $2.6 Million in Ohio Expansion to Speed Up Ambulance Production

GROVE CITY, Ohio – Horton Emergency Vehicles a leading manufacturer of custom ambulances and a brand of REV Group Inc. (NYSE: REVG), is expanding its manufacturing footprint in its hometown with the acquisition of a new 20,000-square-foot facility. The $2.6 million investment is aimed at streamlining final assembly and delivery processes to get life-saving vehicles to customers faster.

The new building, located at 3873 Gantz Road, is adjacent to Horton’s existing 100,000-square-foot main plant. The company plans to begin operations at the new site in early 2026, using the additional space to decongest its primary assembly line and create a more efficient workflow.

Enhancing Capacity and Reducing Lead Times

This strategic expansion is a direct response to growing demand for Horton’s specialized emergency medical vehicles. By dedicating the new facility to final assembly and delivery preparation, the company aims to significantly reduce overall production cycle times.

“This expansion allows us to provide additional space for our employees to manufacture and deliver our high-quality Horton ambulances to our dealers and customers quicker,” said Mike Albers, Vice President and General Manager of Horton Emergency Vehicles.

A Long-Standing Commitment to Grove City

Horton has been a cornerstone of the Grove City manufacturing community since 1994. The company is renowned for its Type 1, Type 3, and Critical Care Transport ambulances, which are custom-built for fire departments and hospitals across the United States. A key feature of their vehicles is the proprietary Horton Occupant Protection System, emphasizing safety for first responders.

The expansion comes at a time of positive momentum for its parent company, REV Group, which has seen strong stock performance and is pursuing a strategic merger with Terex Corporation to create a diversified specialty equipment leader.
