ArcelorMittal Nippon Steel India (AM/NS India) is set to commission two advanced production lines at its flagship Hazira plant in Gujarat this year. These new facilities will focus on producing high-end automotive steel, reducing dependency on imports and supporting the ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’ initiative.
Key Highlights:
🔹 New Units: A Continuous Galvanizing Line (CGL) and a Continuous Galvanizing and Annealing Line (CGAL) to be part of the upcoming Cold Rolling Mill 2 (CRM2) complex.
🔹 First in India: The lines will manufacture globally recognized advanced automotive steel products locally for the first time.
🔹 Market Impact: These additions aim to meet India’s growing demand for premium flat automotive steel, currently at 7.8 MTPA, projected to grow at 6-7% annually.
🔹 Strategic Growth: Enhancing India’s steel ecosystem and global competitiveness while expanding AM/NS India’s product portfolio and market share.
