🚂 Warangal’s Rail Manufacturing Unit Nears Completion, Set for 2026 Rollout: A ‘Game Changer’ for Telangana.

Warangal, Telangana – The eagerly anticipated Railway Manufacturing Unit (RMU) in Warangal is on track for a targeted full completion next year, according to Union Coal Minister G Kishan Reddy. Following a recent on-site inspection, Minister Reddy emphasized the project’s rapid progress, calling it a “game-changing project” set to revolutionize both the region’s economy and the national railway system.

Fast-Track Development and Investment

The Minister’s Saturday visit highlighted the momentum behind the massive undertaking. Spanning 160 acres, the RMU’s initial phase represents a significant investment of ₹521 crore.

“We are moving ahead with the target of fully completing it next year,” Minister Reddy told the press, assuring that the work is advancing with the necessary speed and scale.

The facility is not just being built; it’s being constructed as a world-class center utilizing sustainable methods and advanced technology. This approach, the Minister noted, underscores the Central Government’s commitment to fostering a modern, efficient, and environmentally responsible railway ecosystem in India. Manufacturing Next-Gen Rail Transport

Once operational, the Warangal RMU will specialize in manufacturing state-of-the-art MEMU (Mainline Electric Multiple Unit) rakes. These modern trains, consisting of 16 to 20 cars, are designed to significantly enhance short and medium-distance train travel across the country, providing faster and more comfortable connectivity.
