₹150-Crore Guava Processing Plant to Transform Farmer Incomes in Rajasthan

Rajasthan is taking a major step toward agricultural value addition and farmer prosperity with the announcement of a ₹150-crore guava processing plant in Sawai Madhopur.

The facility aims to strengthen the guava value chain by enabling local processing, reduced logistics costs, and better price realization for farmers. It is also expected to significantly boost demand for guava and guava-based products in both domestic and international markets.

The announcement was made during the first-ever Guava Festival in Sawai Madhopur on January 18, 2026, in the presence of Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla and Rajasthan Agriculture Minister Kirodi Lal Meena.

📌 Key highlights:

  • Rajasthan has 14,000 hectares under guava cultivation
  • 11,000 hectares are concentrated in Sawai Madhopur
  • Current farmer earnings: ₹600–700 crore annually
  • Government target: ₹1,600 crore in farmer income

At present, farmers often travel to distant markets such as Delhi and Vadodara to sell their produce. The new processing plant will provide a lucrative market closer to home, improving margins and encouraging agri-based entrepreneurship.

This initiative marks a strong push toward agri-processing, rural development, and export-oriented growth.
