₹10,000 CRORE SME GROWTH FUND: A BIG BOOST FOR INDIA’S MANUFACTURING SECTOR.

The Union Cabinet has approved the Government of India’s ₹10,000 crore commitment towards the SME Growth Fund (SGF), aimed at providing long-term growth capital to small and medium enterprises.

🏭 Manufacturing will be at the core of the fund, with a major share expected to support SMEs looking to:

🔹 Expand manufacturing capacity

🔹 Adopt advanced technology

🔹 Improve productivity and competitiveness

🔹 Enter international markets

🔹 Integrate into global value chains

🔹 Undertake strategic investments and acquisitions

🔹 Create quality employment opportunities

The fund will operate through an Alternative Investment Fund (AIF) and will also consider SMEs operating in industrial clusters across Tier-II and Tier-III cities.

📈 This initiative could be particularly significant for India’s engineering, auto components, electronics, renewable energy, pharmaceuticals, machinery and other manufacturing-focused SMEs seeking patient growth capital.

With MSMEs contributing 35.4% of India’s manufacturing output, 48.58% of exports and 31.1% of GDP, strengthening growth-stage funding could help create the next generation of Indian industrial champions.

₹10,000 crore of growth capital could translate into more factories, higher capacity, technology upgrades, stronger supply chains and more jobs. 🇮🇳
